Hansel & Gretel, Opera by Engelbert Humperdink

To reconceptualise the script, translating the themes
and characters.

Here I have designed costumes for Hansel and Gretel and their Mother and Father. I used the original black and white Grimmes Tales story book illustrations (see left) to inform my setting within an enchanted black and white photo album. The designs reflect traditional 19th Century German folk dress within origami paper shapes.
