Totnes High Street, Market Day
Brief
To reconceptualise the 17th century play within a contemporary setting, translating the original themes and characters.
Concept
Based in the southern England seaside town, Totnes, I have researched the high street fashions and towns culture to inform the contemporarised costumes for the original 17th century characters. Using image boards to develop and inform the collaged illustrations.
Since I had to consider designing using entirely sourced garments, apposed to bespoke manufactured costumes, each character is assigned a sourced garment list to correspond alongside their illustration.
